12 GAUGE
BEAN BAG AMMUNITION
The work horse less lethal 12 gauge cartridge used by law enforcement is the Bean Bag they are used for crowd control, animal control, SWAT and patrol applications. They are intended for use with pump shotguns with smooth or rifled barrels. They can be fired from semi-automatic shotguns but must be manually cycled. The 2 x 2 square bag with a rifled barrel is a good option when used at minimal ranges as the bag opens quickly and has a wide foot print. The accuracy with a rifled barrel is good up to 50 feet. The MK II Aero Drag Stabilized and Aero-Sock and Improved Aero-sock give the best performance from a smooth bore shotgun.
FLEXIBLE BATON 12 CLOSE RANGE
The FLEXIBLE BATON-12, Close Range cartridge is loaded with a 2 x 2 square bean bag. It is designed for close range encounters (Operational Range 10-50 feet). It can be fired from a smooth or rifled barrel.

FLEXIBLE BATON-12, STANDARD (Rifled Barrel Use Only)
The FLEXIBLE BATON-12, Standard cartridge is loaded with 2
x 2 square bean bag. It has an
operational range of 20-50 feet when
used with a rifled barrel and 30-75 feet with a smooth barrel . The bag is colored red for ease of
identification.

MK II MOD 0 AERO-DRAG
STABILIZED
The MK II Aero-Drag Stabilized is loaded with a bean bag fabricated from 2 layers of MIL-C-7350G
Parachute Nylon and an elastomeric liner. The bag is designed to expand on impact to
increase the area of contact. Its
aerodynamic shape and method of construction makes this a very accurate round.

MK II MOD 1 AERO-DRAG STABILIZED -TRAINING
The MK II MOD 1 Aero-Drag Stabilized is loaded with a bean bag of knitted construction and an elastomeric liner. The cartridge is designed as a low cost training round so it can be used on a one to one basis for the Def-Tec 23DS, AERO SOCK or CTS-Super Sock in training as it is comparable in accuracy.

AERO-SOCK
- DRAG STABILIZED BEAN BAG
The
Aero-Sock is loaded with a Knit fabric bag that is equal in performance to the
CTS and Defense Technology drag
stabilized bean bags. This cartridge
gives uniform velocities and is therefore very accurate. It gives good expansion, exceeding the
LAPD expansion requirements.

QT-4 AERO-SOCK
Patent Pending
This improved version of the Aero-Sock has a bore riding
tail stabilizer that reduces friction in the bore and quickly stabilizes the
projectile as the tail deploys immediately at the muzzle. It is very accuratre and the material
expands on impact. NOTE: Rifled barrels
will cause the projectile to expand to
Approx 2 inches for maximum energy dispersal. However, this reduces
effective range due to increased ballistic drag

This shot was fired
from a Rifled Ithaca Shot Gun and the projectile bounced off. When fired from a smooth bore shot gun the
projectile
Penetrated slightly
in the block of gelatin and bounced off.
Both Shots at

DYNAMIC IMPACT HIGH SPEED VIDEO These panels show the impact of a Aero Drag/Sock type
projectile and a 2x 2 Square bean bag fired from a rifled barrel. The target was a Spar Pro Anatomical Dummy. A high speed video was used to capture the impact . The times correspond to milliseconds
after impact. You can see the
expansion and energy transfer of the Aero-Drag Stabilized. You can also see the square bag coming
in flat fully open in frame one.
Note The energy transfer of the bags as demonstrated by the
collapse of the abdomen. |
